Calc questions

Does LibreOffice Calc open .xlsx files?

Yes. Calc opens .xlsx (Excel 2007+), .xls (older Excel) and .csv files directly. Formulas, charts and basic formatting transfer well. Complex Excel features like Power Query, Power Pivot and some advanced chart types may not be fully supported.

Do Excel macros (VBA) work in LibreOffice Calc?

Partially. Simple VBA macros often work. Complex VBA with Excel-specific objects (Application, Workbook, ActiveX controls) requires rewriting in LibreOffice Basic. For complex macro migration, the effort can be significant.
